Maintaining even a relatively small garden here in the Comox Valley can take a lot of time and work. Shrubs need pruning, flowers need watering, hedges need trimming, and there is constant weeding! Irrigation systems on timers can help reduce the mental load for garden care. Properly spacing out your plants makes it more enjoyable to work in the garden. Rock landscapes are sometimes lower maintenance, but air-born seeds will still germinate, and cleaning out the Autumn leaves can be more challenging. Regardless of the intention, any garden will require some work. The only zero-maintenance garden… is no garden.
